Ishizuchi, the highest sacred mountain in western Japan. Rain and snow accumulate in the surrounding forests and seep out over a long period of time to form abundant subterranean water.
The difference in elevation of the mountainous river, which covers 95% of the watershed, creates a fast current that does not lose its luster until it reaches the mouth of the river.
